Hi, I'm Maanya

A Little About Me And My Work

Hi, my name is Maanya. I’m a registered psychologist, and I have a particular interest in autism assessment. My work centres on psychological assessment and intervention, and I am deeply committed to supporting autistic and ADHD communities, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, using informed, compassionate and individualised approaches.

I have worked across schools, therapy and assessment services, and in child protection, supporting children and young people with a wide range of presentations and developmental needs. That experience has taught me to understand each person within the context of their whole life, and to work closely with families, teachers and other professionals to build a full and accurate picture.

Thorough, Transparent, And More Than A Diagnosis

I take a holistic approach to assessment, prioritising accurate and thorough information gathering from the different people involved in your life. A good assessment, to me, is built on understanding the whole picture, rather than a single snapshot.

To me, the outcome of an assessment is more than a diagnosis. It is just as important that you come away understanding your own mind, and that you walk away with real strategies that make a difference. I stay transparent throughout the process, and offer as much clarity as I can at every opportunity.

I also know that a psychological assessment can be an overwhelming experience. So throughout the process, you and your family will be guided through every step with warmth and patience.

Assessment And Intervention

I offer psychological assessment and intervention, with a particular focus on autism and neurodivergence. The areas I work in include:

  • Autism assessment and diagnosis
  • ADHD assessment
  • Cognitive and educational assessments
  • Psychological intervention and counselling
  • Support for neurodivergent children and their families
  • Working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities

Training And Experience

  • Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology. Monash University.
  • Bachelor of Psychology, with Honours (BPsych Hons). Monash University.
  • Registered psychologist with AHPRA. [registration number and any endorsement to confirm]

I have worked as a psychologist across assessment and therapy services and in school settings, conducting autism, ADHD, cognitive and educational assessments, providing intervention and counselling, and running a mindfulness program for neurodivergent children. Before moving into psychology practice, I worked as a Child Protection Practitioner, advocating for the safety and wellbeing of children and families. Throughout my work, I bring empathy, compassion and cultural sensitivity to everyone I meet.

How To Arrange An Assessment Or Session

You do not need a referral to see me as a psychologist. For psychological intervention, your GP can prepare a Mental Health Treatment Plan if you would like to claim Medicare rebates. Assessments and other services may be funded privately or through other schemes. Sessions are available in person at the Evallies rooms and by telehealth.

  • Sees: children, young people and families
  • Referral: not required; a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan enables Medicare rebates for intervention
  • Funding: Medicare, NDIS (self- and plan-managed), and TAC)
  • Locations: the Evallies rooms in Malvern East and Kew, plus telehealth
