Hi, I'm Dr Claire Lubotzky
A Little About Me And How I Work
Hi, my name is Dr Claire Lubotzky, and I’m a clinical psychologist who works with people of all ages. Much of my work is with adults, but I have experience working with infants, parents in the perinatal period, children, and families. Before moving into private practice, I worked at Alfred Health’s Child and Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, where I supported young people, parents and families through some really difficult times. That experience shaped the way I work today.
My approach aims to be clear, open, authentic and warm, and it always keeps the people I see at the centre. First and foremost, I want my clients to feel safe, respected and understood. When that foundation is in place, we can work collaboratively towards the goals that matter most to you.
What I Help With
My Areas Of Practice
I work across the lifespan, with a particular focus on early life and the relationships that surround it. The people I support, and the areas I work with, include:
- Neurodiversity, including autism and ADHD
- Obsessive compulsive disorder
- Infants, the perinatal period, and the parent-child relationship
- Children, adolescents and families
- Mood and anxiety difficulties
- Complex developmental trauma
- Life transitions, grief and stress
- Performance, including with athletes, executives and artists
- Adults from all walks of life
I also offer cognitive, educational, functional, ADHD and ASD assessments.
How I Work
Relational, Evidence-Based, And Shaped Around You
When working with people, I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches, choosing what fits each person best. These include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, and interpersonal approaches.
Much of my work comes from a relational foundation. My doctoral research focused on early intervention and the importance of the parent-child relationship, and I pay close attention to how our earliest relationships shape the emotional and behavioural patterns we often carry into adulthood. Together, we work towards deeper self-awareness and insight into those patterns, with the aim of building greater flexibility and meaningful, lasting change.
