The WFIRS, or the Weiss Functional Impairment Rating Scale.

The WFIRS.

The WFIRS, or the Weiss Functional Impairment Rating Scale, is a tool used to assess functional impairment in children and adolescents. It is completed by both parents and teachers and consists of a series of questions about the child's behaviour and performance in various areas of functioning.

When completing the WFIRS, parents and teachers can expect to answer questions about the child's behaviour and performance in areas such as family relationships, social functioning, academic performance, and self-care. The questionnaire typically takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete and is designed to assess the child's functioning over the past month. The WFIRS can be used to assess functioning, but also to track changes in functioning over time and monitor the effectiveness of interventions or treatments.
