The CELF-5.
The CELF-5 (Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamentals- Fifth Edition) is a standardised test used to assess the language abilities of individuals aged 5 through 21 years old. During the test, the assessor will ask the individual a variety of questions and perform tasks designed to assess their language skills, including their understanding and use of words, sentences, and grammar.
The questions and tasks may involve listening and repeating words or sentences, answering questions, describing pictures, and telling stories. The evaluator may also ask the individual to demonstrate their knowledge of word meanings, grammar, and word relationships. The CELF-5 is designed to provide a comprehensive evaluation of the individual's language abilities, and the results of the test can be used to help identify areas of strength and inform recommendations for support and interventions where necessary.
